About the Youth Premier Soccer League
A league run by its teams, not teams run by a league

A new and exciting regional youth soccer league has arrived in the northeast area of the country! The Youth Premier Soccer League (YPSL) - youth component of the highly successful Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) tandem - will begin play in June, 2008.
The YPSL is a separate entity from the WPSL and NPSL and is operated by Team Dynamics, LLC. Team Dynamics incurs all costs and expenses in the development and operation of the YPSL but the administration of the league will be performed under the guidance of an Advisory Board of Directors (ABD) which will be comprised of the Directors of Coaching (or his/her designated representative) from each member organization. The ABD will discuss topics or issues that are crucial to the operation, direction, and advancement of the YPSL. Example topics would be discipline, travel, scheduling, scouting, officiating, and minimum standards.
The goal of the YPSL is to become a trend-setter, rather than a follower of the current trend. Through the YPSL, WPSL and NPSL franchises will have the opportunity to enhance their programs while benefitting youth players. Our basic objective is simple - maximize quality playing time, competition, and officiating while minimizing travel issues and scheduling. Success in this area will highlight the professionalism of the franchises involved.
As much as possible, the YPSL plans to follow the alignment set forth for the WPSL and NPSL teams. This would create a direct connection between the youth and senior programs. All age groups would travel to each of the senior venues at least once during the season. This would give each of the existing franchises an opportunity to host an event where 300-600 players plus their parents would attend. All youth players would receive a pass to the senior event(s). The initial plan is to schedule 15 matches per team over 5 weekends. Dates for ODP and USClub Soccer Regional events would be blacked out so the league would pose no conflict for its players.
Entry into the YPSL will only be granted to teams that are already members in good standing of the WPSL and/or NPSL. Teams who are joining the WPSL and/or NPSL will be considered for admission, as well. Adding this youth component to the senior model will have a positive effect on the senior teams by creating additional value to each franchise and building a foundation and feeder system for the senior teams.
Through this foundation, youth players would be able to remain within our franchise system from U12 through the senior level which would eliminate the need for these players to look outside our organization for opportunity.
